The History of the REDWATER RIVER RANCH

In 1919 Micheal and Helen Lakusta bought the land adjacent to Redwater River Ranch, where their children were born and raised.

In 1949, Micheal bought the land where Redwater River Ranch is curentl located a short 1/2 hour drive North of Edmonton, the Capital City of the province of Alberta in Canada. Grain farming was the original agricultural pursuit. In 1962 this land was passed on to Russel and Helen Lakusta. Grain farming continued until the decision was made to start the elk operation in 1988.

The ranch is now a diverse operation and Life Quest Nutrients Inc, elk, buffalo, rainbow trout, cats and Rocky the dog.

The ranch has hands on management provided by Russel and Helen along with their dedicated staff. Russel's brother Victor and their sons Donald and Gary provide a great deal of help and assistance.
